Meet GROWL

| I have had a passion for animals since before I can remember. Every year we would go to Ohio to visit my grandparents for Christmas and along the way we would sing Christmas carols, and each time we would sing 'Rudolph the red nosed reindeer' I would begin crying because the other reindeer would not let Rudolph play with them. That is when my family got the first glimpse into what was to come. Although I always loved animals, I simply was not aware that so many were in shelters and that there was not enough room for them. When I was 18 I went to the shelter to adopt my first homeless pet, Aja, and was horrified at the amount of pets in the shelters who just simply did not have the opportunity or time to find a family for themselves. I have done rescue independently in South Carolina, volunteered with numerous rescue groups all across the United States and with my GROWL partner Dawn Pennington. We have now created GROWL to be able to increase the amount of pets we are able to save from euthanasia and find them forever homes. I have been so fortunate to be able to put my passion towards an amazing cause and each time I see a pet come out of the shelter and either be adopted or sent to rescue because of GROWL I know that I have been blessed. I have had amazing support from my parents, Phil and Nancy and my brother and sister in law, Wes and Angie. My family, my faith in God and my amazing friends have encouraged me to follow my heart regardless of the obstacles and it will always be worth it in the end.
